Throughout the last nearly seven years since they debuted, the members of ATEEZ have deservedly become known for their incredible performance abilities. It’s one of the many reasons why so many ATINYs love them so much, and even now that they’re a well-established group in the K-Pop industry, they haven’t lowered their performance standards an inch. If anything, they’ve only put in more energy and effort into their shows as time has passed!

But that doesn’t mean that they started low-energy, either. From their debut, ATEEZ’s members have put their blood, sweat, and tears into building their skills to become better performers, even though they all began at a pretty high level from the start. And arguably one of their earliest and best-known performances that really captured the general K-Pop community’s attention and awe was their first time performing at the 2019 MAMA Awards, where they blew the audience away with their captivating high-energy showcase.

The performance started with Hongjoong proudly striding on stage with the group’s flag before switching into a special rendition of their most recent title track at the time, “Wonderland”. Interspersed in the mashup of songs they included in the show, they made BTS proud with their interpretation of the hit song “Blood, Sweat, and Tears” as well as SHINee with “View”. Jongho’s powerful vocals covering Miss A’s “Good-Bye Baby” remain iconic to this day, as well as Mingi ripping open his jacket during the climax of “Wonderland”!

Since then, it seems like they’ve only increased the intensity, complexity, and power of their awards shows performances, though the 2019 MAMA Awards was already such a high standard for them to start from.
