On Saturday, April 19, the city of Namhae held the 2025 Namhae Spring Walk event as a celebration of the town for citizens and visitors alike to enjoy the beauty and culture it has to offer. Various activities involving the culture of the city were offered for participants to take part in, from watching and learning about jukbangryeom (a traditional fishing method practiced in Namhae that’s designated as a National Important Fishing Heritage) to a photo event with a local restaurant, a treasure hunt, and more.

As the first K-Pop idol raised in Namhae, ATEEZ’s San has proudly represented his hometown throughout his career, even becoming its honorary ambassador in 2021. He’s always spoken fondly about his roots, and based on the large turnout that the Namhae Spring Walk event had, it’s clear that he’s made a huge positive impact on the city!
He attended the event himself as a volunteer, greeting the crowd of people who attended in multiple languages, showcasing both his multilingual skills and his love for Korean and international fans alike.
He walked beside Jang Chungnam, the mayor of Namhae County, during the 4k walk, conversing with him as they led the large group of supporters through the city’s streets.
We can only imagine how it must feel to be such a positive influence and successful representative of his hometown, and we can think of no one better to have that title than ATEEZ’s Choi San!
We hope that everyone who was able to attend the event had a wonderful time, and we’re pretty sure we can speak for every ATINY in saying that we’re beyond proud of San for his accomplishments!
