One of, if not the top, most well-known pre-debut videos that ATEEZ released as a group is their performance video to the song “Pick It Up” by Famous Dex. Released nearly seven years ago in May 2018, the performance was a perfect preview to the fun energy, dazzling talent, and enchanting charisma that ATEEZ would bring to the K-Pop scene.
The choreography they performed in this video remains iconic to this day, and it’s definitely a staple that every ATINY should watch no matter when they start following the K-Pop group! However, it’s not the only performance video of its kind that ATEEZ released during their trainee days.
There are two other videos — “Performance Video II” and “Performance Video III” — that the group released following their first one. While they don’t have the same number of views as the “Performance Video I” — it has nearly 24 million, while the others have 6.7 million and 3.2 million respectively — they still are a great look into the abilities and charm that ATEEZ had even before they debuted into the K-Pop industry.
“Performance Video II”, released a week after the first performance video, is performed to the song “Lick” by Cardi B. The members are dressed in the same outfits as the previous video and it was filmed in the same location, but it has an entirely different mood and style than the “Pick It Up” dance. Interestingly, Jongho is the center for a majority of the performance despite his position as the main vocalist of the group, and it just goes to show that every member of ATEEZ deserves to be known for their dancing abilities no matter their “official” position. San and Seonghwa also have center parts later on in the video.
Finally, “Performance Video III” is choreographed to the songs “Outlet” by Desiigner and “Day ‘N’ Nite” by Kid Cudi. The video was released a couple of months after the other two in August 2018, and also showcases the members in a new location and in new outfits. San opens up the video as the center member and remains the focal point for a good portion of the performance, while Jongho once again has center stage for a good chunk of time and is followed by Mingi! Each of the three bring their own personal flare to the dance, with the other members syncing up beautifully together in a way that they continue to showcase to this day.
If you haven’t watched these performances before, we highly recommend that you do!
