It was recently shared how much ATEEZ’s Hongjoong donated to NGO “World Vision” through his “Global 6K for Water” campaign, which he held in celebration for his birthday on November 7. With around 3,400 ATINYs taking part in the campaign across the world, the ATEEZ captain donated ₩60 million to the organization, which is around $46,000 USD.
This was a wonderful donation to an important cause, which sought to bring awareness to the struggles of African children who have to walk an average of six kilometers every day to access clean water. But it’s not the first time that Hongjoong has made generous donations to such causes — in fact, throughout his career as an idol, he’s already become known for his many philanthropic activities.
Arguably his most well-known support of a charitable organization is to the Polished Man campaign, which he has actively promoted since his debut. Not only does he take part in the non-profit’s mission in always keeping one nail polished to stand in solidarity with the movement to end violence against women and children, but ATEEZ as a whole were announced as ambassadors of the campaign in 2020.
Even during ATEEZ’s early days, Hongjoong’s efforts led to fans creating fundraisers on the Polished Man website, which ended up collecting hundreds of dollars for the campaign. After ATEEZ became ambassadors, they’d raised over ₩41 million (about $30,000 USD) by July 2021. If you want to contribute to this important cause that Hongjoong and the other members care so much about, you can go to their website here.

Along with the Polished Man campaign, Hongjoong also donated a large sum of money to Korea Childhood Leukemia Foundation in November 2023. Thanks to the profit made from his “Walker A” film photography exhibit as well as his own money, the ATEEZ leader donated ₩50 million (about $38,000 USD) to the organization, which supports children with cancer and other incurable diseases.
Additionally, the “Global 6K For Water” campaign was far from the first time he has donated to the “World Vision” project. His first donation of ₩10 million (~$7,600 USD) was made on November 17, 2022 (ATINY Day), which he donated under the name “ATINY”. This money went to their Dreaming Children campaign, which sought to support underprivileged children in pursuing their dreams.

Earlier in 2024, Hongjoong already made other large donations to the “World Vision” project on two separate occasions. In March, he donated ₩50 million (~$38,000 USD) to their “Global Drinking Water” project, which seeks to provide clean water and sanitation to communities in need across the world. A couple months later in May, he donated another ₩50 million to NGO’s “World Vision” in honor of Children’s Day, with the contribution aimed at supporting children who take care of family members with illnesses or disabilities.
With these donations, Hongjoong was appointed to the “Bob Pierce Honor Club”, which is designated to those who have donated over ₩100 million won to the NGO. At this time, in total, he has donated over ₩170 million (~$122,000 USD) to the organization.

With all of his donations combined, the total amount of money Hongjoong has given to important causes comes to around ₩260 million, or about $187,000 USD.
ATEEZ fans can be proud supporters of such a kind and generous person like Hongjoong, and we have no doubt that he will continue to provide support to important causes that help people in need around the world.
