When it comes to kings of performance in the K-Pop industry, ATEEZ’s members are undoubtedly at the top of the list. While they’re arguably best-known for giving intense, powerful, and even sometimes intimidating performances, ATEEZ has experimented with many different genres successfully throughout their career, showcasing their natural duality!

That’s why they’re perfect for “gap crush” performances. If you’re unfamiliar with the term, “gap crush” (or “온도차”, which means “temperature difference”) refers to a performance where the artists quickly switch from one concept to another. For example, a common “gap crush” consists of a sexy or mature concept, a cute concept, and/or a weird or “crazy” concept.

It doesn’t seem to be used as a theme for videos as much these days, but a couple of years ago, it was relatively common. And when ATEEZ was promoting “Wonderland” in late 2019, they took part in a “gap crush” video on 1theK that remains iconic!

For the video, the members switched between three different concepts. One was the normal “Wonderland” concept, which consisted of intense dancing and military-like uniforms.

The second concept appears to be schoolboys, in which the members are giving a more innocent and youthful vibe.

The third concept is a bit more ambiguous, and seems to be the “strangest” of the three. The members are dressed in sporty outfits and have a lot of random props to play with throughout the video.

As could be expected from the performance kings, ATEEZ’s members go all-out for each concept, making a very entertaining experience. It’s also fun looking back five years ago and seeing how talented the members already were, and how much they’ve grown since then.
