When it comes to larger K-Pop groups — say, those with more than seven members — it can sometimes feel like the managing company tried to squeeze in as many trainees as possible to fill a certain quota. There are some groups that just have certain members who seem more vital to their success than others, whether it’s due to talent, popularity, visuals, or some mixture of that and more. Of course, it’s totally a matter of opinion, and the argument could also be made that every idol who debuts is vital to their group!
When it comes to ATEEZ, despite them being a “larger” K-Pop group with eight members, pretty much every loyal ATINY would tell you that every member brings something unique and important to their dynamic. And recently, in an interview done for ATEEZ THE WORLD : TO THE END, the members themselves shared how each of them has an important role in the group.

For the interview, each member was asked to name the role of the next-youngest member (apart from Hongjoong, who did Seonghwa, and Jongho, who did Hongjoong). Their answers make it obvious just how much they care for and respect each other.
Hongjoong’s answer for Seonghwa was the longest, and it shouldn’t surprise anyone that he mentioned how much the oldest member dazzles and shines!

Seonghwa answered for Yunho, highlighting his determined energy.

Yunho’s response for Yeosang mentions his unique charm multiple times, which ATINYs can definitely agree with!

Yeosang’s response was for San, bringing up his reliability in every area of their relationship.

San called Mingi the group’s “red pepper powder”, bringing the flavor to ATEEZ!

Mingi highlights Wooyoung’s talent and balance in the group.

Wooyoung brings up their maknae‘s obvious vocal talent, but also his dancing abilities and overall power in the group.

And finally, Jongho reiterates that Hongjoong continues to be ATEEZ’s captain, a role that we doubt will ever change!

It’s wonderful to see the members praising each other so personally and genuinely after their six years as an active K-Pop group and longer as trainees together, and we can’t wait to see how their relationships continue to blossom over time!
