As we begin the wait for the European leg of ATEEZ’s Toward The Light tour, ATINY are eagerly searching for the perfect outfit. But with so many looks over the years, we could totally forgive anyone from getting choice paralysis. Plus, it’s a struggle to find options that not only fit the vibe, but also fit the budget. As someone who’s had to do a nearly total wardrobe change over the past year or so (both for concert fits and for everyday wear), I can speak volumes about how much time, energy, and money it takes to get the looks together.

Enter a new Friday feature article: Fit Fix. Where I analyze the different pieces of a particular ATEEZ member’s fashion and provide suggestions for the pieces with a few different price points.

Starting off this feature is Seonghwa. It’s nearly impossible to find a look of his that doesn’t exude an ethereal or powerful genderless aura, which has been something I’ve personally always been drawn to growing up consuming fantasy media. Specifically, I wanted to start with his “Crazy Form” MV costume, which combined full, soft textures with structured, straight lines in a lovely monochromatic ensemble. I find that it’s a wonderful point of entry for concert-goers, as nearly all the individual pieces can be duped with fairly common clothing articles.

Before I dive in, let me be clear on some things:

  1. This is more about identifying the pieces of an outfit or costume and providing suggestions for items based on that and that alone. It’s neither an endorsement nor condemnation for brands, styles, or pieces.
  2. Your purchased outfit is just as valid as a thrifted or DIY outfit and vice versa, regardless of price.
  3. You’re obviously not obligated to dress up for any concert, including ATEEZ. You can come as you are and have just as much fun!

Now, let’s fix in!

First off, let’s discuss the top combination. Seonghwa is wearing a white, collared, cottony blouse with puffy sleeves to allow more of a flouncy feel to his silhouette. Atop this, he appears to be outfitted with a black, double-breasted corset, helping draw attention to his slim waist and create very strong structure to the look. When paired with the pants, it elongates his already tall build and provides a perfect taper between his upper body and waist with the transition between billowy top and snug middle and bottom pieces. The blouse does have slits cut into the underarms, which adds width to his shoulders and adds visual intrigue with movement. Plus, it has a wonderful ability to make people believe it’s 2 shirts in one and, to be honest, I’m still not sure which it is.

With the above in mind, we can then narrow down the looks to a few options at varying prices. Two separate pieces may prove a little pricier, especially when one of them is a corset-style top. To kill two birds with one stone, you could look into this 2-in-1 shirt from Shein that gives the full illusion of both articles while being under $10. Should you look into getting each one, you may be able to find success on Amazon with their wearVAST Victorian Wide Cuff Blouse priced at $29.99. Other options include ASOS with their white blouse, which is a bit more expensive at about $45, as well as the Jane Blouse from DOEN. However, this final option is a pretty big jump in price at $158 and may not be in everyone’s budget.

Jumping from the blouse to the corset, I was able to find styles that felt similar to the one Seonghwa sported, though it’s arguably tough to find an exact dupe. However, between a cute options that runs $10.99 through WAL-MART, a gorgeous double-breasted corset on Express for $59.99, and the 6-way corset from Wildfang priced at $69.00, it appears there are several great options for getting the strapless design.

Due to the wide angles used in the MV, it’s hard to get some of the exact details for the pants and shoes. But never fear: I did my best based on the shape it helped provide. The pants appear to be a pair of slim, straight-leg slacks with minimal embellishments save for a couple tears at just above the knee and about mid-shin. With that in mind, I was able to pick 3 options of varying prices to get the idea in place. If you’ve got the cash to spend, you could look into the Black Ponte pants from Ripley Rader, which costs about $198 currently. On the other end of the scale, we have the Solid Stitch Straight-Leg trouser from Cider for $32 or the Sculpted Straight Pant from Banana Republic for $68.99.

If you thought getting the pants identified was tough, I nearly lost my mind getting details for the shoes. From what I could see, the shoes were a pointed-toe boot with more of a faux leather finish, though I can’t be completely sure. As a result, you can really go with just about any type that fits that description rather than being stuck to just a certain style of boot. Some examples I was able to find was the Mindy Chelsea bootie from Circus NY by Sam Edelman currently on sale at $34.97, the a.n.a Womens Reba Block Heel bootie priced as of today at $44.99, and the Linea Paolo Zoey pointed-toe Chelsea boot that’s on sale currently at $69.97.

While these are the main parts of the outfit themselves, there are also accessories that tie the look together for those of a more completionist mindset and who want to get every detail accounted for. The items to examine are the statement necklace, double-hoop drop earrings, and lace-embellished gloves. If you have money to spend and want to support artists, you could look into Etsy for some creators to help make a look that may resemble the jewelry worn. However, you can also get plenty of options on Amazon by looking at a combo of jeweled and leaf necklaces in silver to wear together, such as the Zthread statement necklace and the Leaf Metal vintage necklace from Nuroco. Both necklaces can be purchased for under $40. The earring, also silver, appears to feature a pearl on a double-hoop. Something similar can be purchased. Finally, we come to the gloves. AKA the bane of my research for this look because the detailing on them are so unique that it’s hard to find something that comes pre-made with the lace. I was finally able to find one that emulated the look, those being the Marcus Adler Jersey Yarn patterned gloves on sale currently at $20.99. However, if you have the tools and skills to do so, modifying a pair of gloves with white lace would be a more cost-effective option to nail the look.

All in all, this look ends up being easier to find comparable pieces to the original and the overall look is incredibly commanding and stylish with a blend of feminine and masculine shapes and construction. More feminine and more masculine versions are also highly encouraged, depending on your preference and concert needs. Have a fun and happy stylings!
